Travel Information:

Participants are encouraged to seek their own funding; however, RCSD and other collaborators have limited funds available for those participants in need of support. Further details of funds and travel grants will be posted on the website at the time of the next announcement.


Visa Information:

For visa requirements, please refer to the website of the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Also confirm with your local Thai embassy/consulate which (if any) visa you will need. If you are in need of an invitation letter for visa purposes, please inform the ICIRD Secretariat.

Foreign participants are required to obtain a visa from a Royal Thai Embassy or a Royal Thai Consulate-General. In order apply for a Thai Visa, please be advised that:

  • For those who hold passports of countries which are exempted from visa requirement when entering Thailand for Tourism Purposes, they will be permitted to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 30 days each time. Please check lists of exempted countries at http://www.mfa.go.th/web/2482.php?id=2490.
  • Passport holders from 21 countries and territories may apply for a Visa on Arrival at the Immigration checkpoints for Tourism Purposes, and will be allowed to stay in Thailand for a period of not exceeding 15 days each time. Visa on Arrival is provided at 24 designated international checkpoints and applicants should submit the application form fully filled out and to which his/her recent photograph (4 x 6 cm.) is attached. The application fee is 1,000 THB. Please check for the list of 21 countries and territories as well as the 24 designated international checkpoints at http://www.mfa.go.th/web/2482.php?id=2491.

 


Arrival Information:

Those who need airport pick-up service, please check for the service information with the hotel staff by themselves.

Those who would like to go to the hotel(s) themselves can get the taxi service costing about 120 baht.

Participants arriving Chiang Mai by train can get the local taxi (red-cab) from Chiang Mai Railway Station to the Hotel costing about 80 baht per person.
